What makes BiuWrite different from other note apps?
BiuWrite is a local-first AI workspace you own. Notes, automations, and dashboards live together instead of in separate tools.
Can I plug in my own AI models?
Yes. Bring your own keys for GPT, Claude, or local models. Mix and match per task without caps or markups.
Will it work with my existing knowledge base?
Import Markdown, PDFs, and research snippets, then connect everything with linked databases, mind maps, and references.
Is there any lock-in?
No. You own your license forever, can export any page to Markdown or JSON, and keep automation buttons with your files.
How many devices can I activate with one purchase?
Every license includes activations for up to three personal devices. If you upgrade hardware or need a reset, contact support and we’ll move your activations quickly.
What’s your refund policy?
We’re customer-obsessed: if BiuWrite isn’t right for you, tell us within 7 days and we’ll refund you in full for any reason.
How do I back up my workspace?
BiuWrite stores everything in the workspace folder you choose on first launch (e.g., <code>~/Documents/BiuWrite</code> on macOS/Windows or <code>~/BiuWrite</code> on Linux by default). Point Syncthing, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or any sync tool at that folder to keep automatic backups—nothing is uploaded by us.<br /><br />

Does BiuWrite have built-in peer-to-peer sync?
Not yet. Native peer-to-peer sync is in progress. For now, point your workspace folder at Syncthing, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or any sync tool you control to keep devices in step.
Is my data encrypted on-device?
Today your notes and projects live as plain text files inside the workspace folder you choose. We don’t add on-device encryption yet, so use your OS disk encryption (FileVault/BitLocker/LUKS) for protection. Encryption at rest is on our roadmap.
How do updates ship?
Beta updates arrive as downloadable builds with release notes. Install when you’re ready and keep working on any previous version.
What is BiuWrite Novel Studio?
It’s a private, local-first workspace that helps you world-build, draft chapters, and revise with AI without ever leaving your device.
Does BiuWrite work offline?
Yes. BiuWrite Novel Studio is designed to work completely offline, so you can write anywhere without an internet connection.
How is my data kept private?
All processing happens locally on your device. We don’t upload your writing to the cloud or collect your data.
What’s the pricing model?
BiuWrite Novel Studio will be available as a one-time purchase. During the closed beta, we’re focused on features and feedback — join the waitlist to stay updated.

What are the system requirements?
BiuWrite runs on macOS 12+ with at least 8 GB RAM. Discrete GPUs or Apple Silicon accelerate local AI models but aren’t required. Other platform support is coming soon.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Everything works offline once installed. You’ll only need internet to download updates or connect your own AI key if you want cloud model access.
Can I export my projects?
Yes. Your work stays in local files you can back up anywhere. Export full manuscripts, scenes, or notes to Markdown, DOCX, or JSON with a single click.
